Insert and Copy

When Doco provides a response in the chat pane (e.g., a rewritten paragraph, summary, or bullet list), you'll see two key action buttons: Insert and Copy.

Insert Button​

  • What it does: Instantly places the AI-generated text directly into your Word document at your cursor’s current position.

  • Ideal for:

    • Replacing a highlighted section with a new version.
    • Inserting new content (e.g., summary, CTA, next paragraph) while drafting.
    • Building your document without copy-pasting back and forth.

✨ Pro Tip​

  • Use Insert after highlighting content to replace it automatically — McCarren will detect the original and offer a cleaner swap.

Copy Button​

  • What it does: Copies the AI-generated response to your clipboard — without inserting it into the document.
  • Ideal for:
    • Reviewing or tweaking content before pasting.
    • Using the content elsewhere (e.g., email, another app).
    • Manual placement or comparison with existing text.
